Walsh Family Wine

Walsh Family Wine is a hidden gem just outside Purcellville, surrounded by the beautiful hills of Western Loudoun County. With stunning vineyard views and a laid-back tasting room, it offers the perfect setting to unwind and enjoy the scenery without any rigid schedule.

Stone fireplace, cozy patio vibes, and great local wine.

The property sits back from the road, with views that stretch across the vines toward the mountains. Most people end up outside when the weather is nice, and it’s easy to lose track of time here. There isn’t a lot of structure to the visit, which is what makes it work—you can settle in without feeling like you need to move along.

The wines are small-batch and rotate, but they’re generally in line with what you’d expect from this part of Virginia—balanced, approachable, and easy to pair with food. If you tend to like dessert wines, the Late Harvest Petit Manseng 2021 is worth trying. It leans sweet, but still has enough structure to keep it from feeling too heavy. It’s the kind of pour that works well at the end of a tasting, especially later in the day.

Pull up an Adirondack chair, soak in the mountain view.

Walsh fits naturally into a day spent exploring west of Leesburg. It’s close enough to Purcellville to pair with lunch or another stop, but far enough out to feel removed. This part of Loudoun tends to attract people who appreciate open space, smaller businesses, and a slower pace overall, and this is very much in line with that.
